Our number one goal at GsRRR is to pay for urgent veterinary care
for dogs at German Shepherd rescues. Many of these dogs have been
neglected or abused, or were scheduled for euthanasia at county shelters because
they were considered "un-adoptable", simply because of a medical
condition. The rescues know better, and can see the value of these
wonderful dogs. They rescue them in spite of the costs they will incur.
The veterinary care to help these dogs can be very costly, even with
discounted rates. We want to make sure these dogs don't have to wait until
funds are available, and to make sure no dog is turned away because the rescue
can't afford to help them.
Our second goal at GsRRR is to assist German Shepherd Rescues with "difficult"
and "senior" dogs. Many dogs come to the rescues scared
and anxious because of their previous homes and experiences. These dogs
sometime appear to be aggressive or high strung, when their only problem is
fear. Often, they were given up by their owners because of a "bad
habit". They are passed by for adoption simply because people don't
understand them.
We believe there are no "bad" dogs. All dogs
respond to a loving, consistent environment. We assist the rescues in
providing rehabilitation for these dogs, so they can find the loving homes they
deserve, and not be "scared" anymore.
Senior dogs are always a sad story for the rescues. Everyone wants
a "young" dog when they come to adopt. The rescues save these
senior dogs because they know from experience that these dogs still have lots of
love to give to the right family. Unfortunately, it often takes longer for
that right family to come along. There are some that may never find that
family. Several rescues also operate a sanctuary for these dogs, so they
can live out their years with comfort and care, instead of spending their last
days in a crowded shelter. We at GsRRR provide support to the rescues to
maintain the facilities for these special dogs.
Our third goal at GsRRR is a long term goal. Our "Home
Sweet Home" fund is a permanent fund specially set aside for the
eventual operation of a cage free temporary boarding and rehabilitation facility
for German Shepherd Rescue organization dogs (click here to

purpose. Become a Founding Member, and help us make this happen
